This upcoming Sunday's meeting will, as previously noted, be at Griswold High School (exit 85 of I-395)on the practice football field adjacent to the parking lot. The purposes of the meeting are to assess your own fitness level (there is no pass-fail requirement) and exchange important information prior to the upcoming season.

At the winter meeting of the ECSOA Executive Board we felt the need to more clearly explain our policy toward meeting attendance:

"The CIAC requires that we have no less than five meetings per year each with a training element. We continue to have attendance problems especially during the two mid-season meetings. During the recent Executive Board meeting, this issue was discussed at length, and it was decided that current offenders would receive a formal written warning from the Secretary-Treasurer. The letter will state that if the problem persists, the Executive Board reserves the right to impose a fine and/or request that the Assignment Commissioner, at his/her discretion, reduce the schedule of the individual accordingly. Future offenders will be subject to the same action."

This is a major point of emphasis and the Executive Board is taking it very seriously. We understand that members often have schedule conflicts that can interfere with ECSOA meeting attendance, and if you cannot attend, please notify Mark Paquette by e-mail prior to the meeting. Each meeting this year will be titled and have training and information elements.

If members have something they would like addressed or discussed at one of our mid-season meetings, please notify me, and we will get it on the agenda.

I'm looking forward to kicking off another successful season and seeing everyone on Sunday.

Phil Houk, ECSOA President
