Having said that there is NO SUNDAY MEETING IN AUGUST,
which eliminates the 12 minute walk around the track,
fitness is very important for the quality of work of each and every
official.

The regular season begins in 75 days on Tuesday, September 11.
Be fit. Be ready. Be prepared to work and run hard.
START GETTING READY NOW!!

A good running workout is to go to a soccer field or any 100 yard field, set your watch to 40 minutes, and just run for 40 minutes.

Mix up jogging and sprinting whether it's quarter field or half field,
alternate for the entire 40 minutes.

Remember fatigue leads to poor positioning which can lead to late game mistakes!

Fellow officials,

Happy 4th of July! and have a great Summer!

Our 1st meeting and fitness run is only 8 weeks from today
on Sunday, August 29, 10am at Montville HS.

Now is the time to start training for the Fall season.
Whatever distance you run normally, if you improve just 15 seconds per week, you'll have improved at least 2 minutes by the meeting date. Doesn't sound like much but it is really a great improvement!!
Fitness is an important part of your ability to referee at your best in a 2 man system. And a 3 man diagonal as well.

If your 1st run of the Summer is on August 29-
AS WAS THE CASE FOR MANY BOARD MEMBERS AT LAST YEAR"S
MEETING- then you're getting the season off to a poor start.

Good Training!!
